Anger running in the background of your soul can be a constant drain on your spiritual vitality.

There are over 625 biblical references to anger / wrath / fury / rage or outrage.

TEXT Ephesians 4.26 ESV 26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.

Ways to reduce the drain of anger on your spiritual battery life:


o Uncage your rage.

“Angry feelings can go underground…[taking] subtle forms such as silence, irritation, resentment, bitterness, and hatred.” – James Dobson

o Mad is not Bad. There are times to be angry.

“For many Christians anger, in legal terms, is not only a misdemeanor, it’s a felony. Those who see anger as inconsistent with their faith must either deny their anger or confess it as sin.” – Richard Dobbins


o Don’t clam up.

There are times to moderate our anger.

James 1.19 ESV 19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

o Don’t blow up.

There are times to eliminate anger.

Psalm 37.8 ESV 8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

Ecclesiastes 7.9 ESV 9 Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

Who or what makes you angry? Actually no one or nothing can make you angry.

Colossians 3.8 ESV 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
