Volume Overview – Hello, My Name Is God

God the Father chose to reveal who He is throughout His Word. A robust picture of God can be seen by looking at His interactions with men and women like us. Since people first sinned in Genesis 3, every generation has had to connect with our invisible God for themselves. Through these sessions about God, you have the opportunity to pass on this life-changing relationship to kids.

SESSION 1: God Is the One True God

Daniel 3:1–30

Faith Fact: My God is the one true God.

Session Overview:

This session’s Bible story is just one example of how God has proven to people that He is the one true God. As Christians, we believe in and serve God who reveals himself in three Persons—God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The world will provide many false alternatives, but we must place our trust only in the one true God.

SESSION 2: God Is in Control

Jeremiah 18:1–11

Faith Fact: My God is in control.

Session Overview:

Throughout the Old Testament, we see God establish His position in relation to His people. He is our Creator and Lord; therefore, we should desire for Him to be in control of our life. In our Bible story, we see God compared to a potter who molds clay. The potter works with the clay and molds it into what he desires it to be. In the same way, God has a plan and purpose for our life, too. He desires to mold us and help us grow into the people He has planned for us to be.

SESSION 3: God Cares about Me

2 Kings 20:1–11; Psalm 139:16–18

Faith Fact: My God cares.

Session Overview:

God is our Heavenly Father, and He intently cares for His people far beyond what any earthly parent could. Our Bible story reveals God’s care for King Hezekiah when he was sick, and God healed him. The story shows us that God sees His people. He cares about the big and the small details of our life. When we call out to Him, He listens. He responds when we turn to Him for help.

SESSION 4: God Is Eternal

Exodus 3:1–15

Faith Fact: My God is always with me.

Session Overview:

In the Bible, God reveals himself as the eternal God. He is the Beginning and the End. When He sent Moses on a dangerous and important mission to save God’s people in Egypt, God promised that He would go with Moses. No matter what situation we face, He is always with us.

Faith Verse

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

Isaiah 55:8 NLT
