In these sessions, kids will learn that God loves everyone. When we listen to and obey God, others can be impacted, and great things can happen. This requires trust that God knows what is best and His timing is perfect. When we trust God, He helps us get through every situation.

SESSION 1: Jonah Goes to Nineveh— Jonah 1:1–2; 3:1 to 4:2

Faith Fact: God loves everyone.

In this session, we are learning that God loves everyone, even people we might not necessarily like. God sent Jonah to the Assyrian city of Nineveh to warn them that they needed to change their ways or be destroyed. Jonah didn’t want to go because he didn’t like the people of Nineveh. They were a very powerful and scary nation. God wants us to share His love with everyone, even people we don’t like. We do this because God wants us to love everyone just like He does.

SESSION 2: Daniel in the Lions’ Den— Daniel 6:10–27

Faith Fact: God listens when I pray.

In this session, as we look into the experience of Daniel in the lions’ den, we see a man who chose to pray rather than save his own life. He knew that God, the one true God, would listen to his prayers. The testimony of this story is that when we listen and obey God, an entire nation can be impacted. Allow the kids to explore the characteristics of God as the king declares praise to the God Daniel serves.

SESSION 3: Esther and the King— Esther 4:10 to 5:4

Faith Fact: God knows what’s best.

In this session, we’ll learn about Esther, the young woman who is the heroine of the story. However, the real hero is God because He put everything together at the perfect time to save His people. When we trust that God knows what’s best, great things can happen. Esther is an example of how we can be a part of God’s divine plans being orchestrated.

SESSION 4: Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall— Nehemiah 2:11–20

Faith Fact: God wants me to trust Him.

In this session, Nehemiah shows the value of trusting God and His timing. Nehemiah understood the importance of having the support of earthly kings, local leaders, and perfect timing when it comes to sharing plans with others. Nehemiah was able to complete an incredible building project and continue the restoration of Jerusalem by trusting God. When I trust God, He helps me get through every situation.
